Since 2014, we lead efforts to support youth growth and development through critical thinking, experiential learning, and place-based study abroad.
Change Institute International provides global leadership training and travel opportunities for youth leaders through the exploration of environmental sustainability. At each site, we work together toward social, environmental and economic justice by studying the intersection of culture and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). We collaborate with our global partners to expand horizons that deepen the scope of building bridges for international relationships and local transformation.
Change Institute values partnership as a central focus of programming. Local feedback and guidance is vital in responsible and accountable travel. For that reason, Change Institute works with partner organizations and individual consultants from the host country to strengthen the partnership through mutual support and relationship building. We have multiple partner organizations in Barbados that have made strong programming possible. The central anchoring partner is the Sojourner Foundation, an organic community farm that is committed to producing sustainable food systems, equity and justice in Barbados.
